Saturday, November 11
On this day, and throughout the year, we have the opportunity to remember Canadians who died in service to our country. On Friday morning, students, staff members and special guests participated in a commemorative ceremony in the Michael Roy Gymnasium. We paused for two minutes of silence as a tribute to all of those brave men and women who courageously volunteered for freedom and peace. Poppies will be worn as a symbol of our remembrance, a reminder of the blood-red flower that still grows on the former battlefields of France and Belgium. In remembering, we also pay homage to members of the Canadian Armed Forces, both serving and retired, who continue serve on our behalf.
