Freedom to Read Week – this week is Freedom to Read Week! By acknowledging this day, we are reaffirming our commitment to intellectual freedom and the right to read – as guaranteed by our Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Celebrate this freedom by signing out a digital or print book today!
Red Maple reading – today is Wednesday! This week’s Red Maple reading challenge will be posted in our Google Classroom this afternoon at 1:00 p.m. Good luck!
Poetry competition – submit your poem to your English teacher, or Ms. Jalette in the library, by noon, today. Important note: poems need to be submitted in electronic form and nominated by your English teacher for Provincial consideration. All other poems will acquire a spot in our school competition. Students have an additional week for our school competition. See Ms. Jalette in the library for more details.
Yearbooks – check out Bishop’s social media pages for links to purchase our school yearbook. A table will be set up next week outside the cafeteria. You can also pay cash for your yearbook.
Want a bigger spotlight in this year’ yearbook? We will be auctioning pages off next week! What does that mean? You can purchase tickets for the draw. If your name is chosen, you can place pics of you and your friends, your artwork, photography, poetry, fav quotes and more on your page. You will work with one of our yearbook team members to create a memorable page. Tickets are $1 each or 10 tickets for $5. Good luck!

Badminton – Mrs. Christian’s grade 9 math class is playing tomorrow. This week’s set-up and take-down crew is Ella Noble, Ella Dunlay and Ruby Selle. Volleyball will begin in March.
Pizza Day today! Stop by the SAC for a slice of pizza for only $2.00. The SAC will also be selling Skittles, Pringles, candy cups and suckers.
National Tortilla Chip Day is today! Stop by the Student Council room next to the cafeteria for some chips and salsa for only $1.
